MEDELLÍN, Colombia — September 24, 2025 — Green Coffee Company (GCC) has executed a commercial agreement to sell 100% of its coffee mucilage production for this year to MultyHealth Colombia, a premier beverage brand serving markets across Colombia and Spain. The milestone marks GCC’s first official transaction in coffee byproduct monetization, converting a traditionally costly waste management challenge into a profitable new revenue stream.
Under the terms of the agreement, MultyHealth Colombia will purchase the full supply of mucilage—the nutrient-rich, sugar-dense fruit layer surrounding the coffee bean—generated across GCC’s operations this year. MultyHealth will utilize the byproduct to power its growing portfolio of high-antioxidant consumer beverages.
Managing coffee mucilage has long represented one of the agricultural sector’s most significant environmental and financial hurdles, historically requiring millions of dollars in continuous water treatment infrastructure and ongoing compliance expenditures. By commercializing this material directly at the source, GCC immediately cuts its active water treatment costs by 50%, eliminates hundreds of thousands of dollars in planned capital outlays, and significantly reduces operational impacts on local waterways.
This initial sale represents the first step in GCC’s broader strategy to build out a fully integrated byproduct business unit. The company’s innovation team is actively developing additional commercial applications for its agricultural yield, including biochar, bio-ethanol, and specialized food ingredients.
GCC plans to scale its byproduct processing capacity throughout the upcoming harvest season, establishing new commercial partnerships across the global food, beverage, and renewable materials sectors.
